iTTi TEFL Certification at International House Monterrey

Turn the English you already speak into a professional teaching skill with the 120-hour iTTi TEFL program at International House Monterrey.

This intensive four-week program combines the flexibility of online learning with the value of face-to-face training and real classroom experience.

Complete the first three weeks online from wherever you are, then travel to Monterrey, Mexico, for an immersive final week of in-person training and observed teaching practice with real students.

No previous teaching experience is required.

Speaking English and knowing how to teach it are two very different skills.

The iTTi TEFL program is designed to help you understand how languages are learned and develop the practical skills needed to plan, deliver and evaluate effective English lessons.

Throughout the program, you will learn how to:

Plan structured and engaging lessons.
Present and practice language effectively.
Select and adapt teaching materials.
Manage a classroom and encourage participation.
Respond to learners with different needs, backgrounds and goals.
Develop confidence and professionalism as an English teacher.

A flexible four-week format

The program allows you to begin your training from home and travel to Monterrey only for the final in-person stage.

Weeks 1–3: Online training

Build your foundation in teaching methodology, lesson planning, classroom management and language awareness through intensive online training.

Week 4: Face to face in Monterrey

Put what you have learned into practice at International House Monterrey. You will teach real students, have your lessons observed and receive professional feedback to help you identify your strengths and continue developing as a teacher.

Get specialized training to prepare your students for one of the world’s most widely recognized English-language tests for postgraduate studies, professional opportunities and migration to English-speaking countries.

IELTS — English for study, work and migration

IELTS is an international test that assesses listening, reading, writing and speaking. Its Academic version is used for higher education and professional registration, while General Training is commonly used for migration and other training purposes.

Our IELTS teacher preparation course will help you:

Plan preparation courses and individual lessons.
Teach the four skills for Academic and General Training.
Understand assessment criteria and provide useful feedback.
Help students manage their time, develop test-taking strategies and build confidence.

Preparing Students for TOEFL

Get specialized training to prepare your students for one of the world’s most widely accepted English-language tests for university admission and academic study, especially in the United States.

TOEFL — English for university study

TOEFL iBT assesses the English skills students need in academic environments. Universities use its results to help determine whether applicants are ready to study in English.

Our TOEFL teacher preparation course will help you:

Develop students’ reading, listening, speaking and writing skills.
Teach academic vocabulary and communication strategies.
Assess student performance and provide targeted feedback.
Design preparation courses, use practice tests and create personalised study plans.

Both courses are included in our offer, with specialist certificates issued by iTTi.

In addition to the 120-hour TEFL program, your enrollment includes two specialist add-on courses designed to broaden the range of classes you are prepared to teach.

These courses are delivered separately from the 120-hour TEFL program and are included at no additional cost. Upon successful completion, you will receive an additional specialist certificate issued by iTTi for each course.
